Retailed through the Nexa distribution channel alongside the Baleno, the Fronx has received a substantial price cut of up to ₹1.11 lakh just before the festive season.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, a crossover variant derived from the Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback, has emerged as a major revenue generator for the automaker since its market debut. Retailed through the Nexa distribution channel alongside the Baleno, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has received a substantial price cut of up to ₹1.11 lakh just before the festive season, following the implementation of the GST 2.0 framework that became effective from September 22.
With this price adjustment, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx now carries a starting price of ₹6.85 lakh (ex-showroom) and extends to ₹11.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The range of price reductions for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx varies between ₹74,000 and ₹1.11 lakh (ex-showroom).
With this pricing revision, combined with seasonal promotional offers and dealer incentives, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is anticipated to experience increased sales volume in the upcoming weeks during this festive period, which traditionally represents the most lucrative sales window for automotive manufacturers annually.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx made its official entry after being showcased at Auto Expo 2023. It was positioned as a crossover adaptation of the widely acclaimed Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback. The manufacturer introduced this model as part of its strategy to leverage the growing consumer preference for utility vehicles, which has become a worldwide trend.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx offers three distinct powertrain configurations: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.2-litre petrol-CNG combination, and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit.
The 1.2-litre petrol-only configuration is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, with an optional 5-speed AMT available. The petrol-CNG configuration comes exclusively with a five-speed manual gearbox, while the turbo-petrol variant offers both five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission choices.
The 1.2-litre petrol engine delivers 89 bhp power and 113 Nm torque in petrol-only mode, while operating on CNG, the same engine produces 77 bhp power and 98.5 Nm of peak torque. The turbocharged petrol engine generates 99 bhp power and 147.6 Nm of peak torque.
