The ADAS Test City aims to be a premier hub for automotive, technology, and validation companies to test and certify intelligent mobility solutions.
In a significant development for India’s intelligent mobility ecosystem, Hero Technologies has partnered with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) as the Official Navigation Partner for India’s first ADAS Test City. The collaboration was unveiled at the ADAS Show on February 10, 2026.
The initiative brings together Here Technologies’ global capabilities in navigation and location intelligence with ARAI’s expertise in automotive research, testing and certification. The ADAS Test City has been developed under ARAI’s leadership to create a structured environment for testing, validation and localisation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) tailored to India’s diverse and complex road conditions.
As part of the partnership, Here Technologies will provide high-precision, continuously updated navigation data and location services. These capabilities are expected to support ADAS validation processes and the development of software-defined vehicles within the Test City framework. The collaboration aims to assist automakers, Tier-1 suppliers and technology developers in building context-aware ADAS solutions suited to Indian driving scenarios.
Commenting on the partnership, Abhijit Sengupta, Senior Director & Head of Business, India & Southeast Asia, Here Technologies, said, “The ADAS Test City is a cornerstone in India’s journey toward intelligent and safer mobility. Robust navigation and location services are critical enablers of reliable and context-aware ADAS functionality. Together with ARAI, we aim to support automakers, Tier-1 suppliers and developers in localising, testing and scaling ADAS capabilities that reflect the real-world diversity of India’s road ecosystem.”
Alongside the partnership announcement, the ADAS Show also highlighted strong participation from Indian technology firms. Ahmedabad-based drivebuddyAI demonstrated its India-built ADAS and Driver Monitoring System (DMS), developed and validated entirely on Indian roads in alignment with ARAI standards.
The company showcased its fifth-generation single-box ADAS solution on a demo truck, compliant with five key Automotive Industry Standards, including Autonomous Emergency Braking with camera-radar fusion, Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Information System, and Moving Off Information System.
Powered by more than 3.5 billion kilometres of real-world driving data, drivebuddyAI’s platform has been deployed across truck and bus fleets since 2021. The company states that its solution has contributed to a significant reduction in accidents across deployed fleets and is certified under both Indian AIS-184 and European EU GSR 2144 standards.
Starkenn also showcased its Made-in-India ADAS technologies at the event, demonstrating advanced perception systems, real-time traffic intelligence and driver-assist algorithms within the ADAS Test City environment. The ADAS Test City is expected to play a central role in enabling safe, scalable and regulation-ready ADAS technologies for the Indian market.

Located near Talegaon, Pune, the 20-acre ADAS Test City developed by ARAI has been designed to validate features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Lane Keeping Assist that simulate real-world Indian road conditions. The track includes four-lane roads, roundabouts, S-curves, Euro NCAP junctions, traffic lights, and pedestrian/animal dummies. The facility aims to be a premier hub for automotive, technology, and validation companies to test and certify intelligent mobility solutions.
