This is the brand’s most feature-rich 125 cc bike on offer.
Hero MotorCop has taken the wraps off its most feature-rich 125 cc bike in the form of the new Glamour X 125. Priced from ₹89,999 onwards, the new Hero Glamour X will be available in two variants – Drum and Disc. The latter will set you back by ₹99,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it the most expensive “Glamour” bike on sale now, and there are reasons for that.
For starters, it is the first and only 125 cc bike in the market to be available with cruise control. Which means you won’t need constant throttle inputs during those highway runs. You get a dedicated switchgear on the right handlebar located right below the start-stop switch switches to both increase and decrease the speed of your cruise. Other notable additions include ride by wire and three ride modes - Eco, Standard & Power.
Additionally, the new Hero Glamour X debuts a brand new full-colour LCD console. It supports smartphone connectivity, which gives you access to all the modern features like turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and much more. Beyond that, the headlight, turn indicators, and tail lights are all LED units now. Plus, Hero has also implemented Panic Brake Alert (wherein the tail light blinks upon sudden braking), making it the only 125 cc bike in the country to come with this feature.
With a bunch of new features, comes a completely different design, and the new Hero Glamour X 125 looks quite sporty and premium. The headlight cowl has been redesigned for a sharper profile, integrating H-shaped DRLs, and the taillights look similar to the ones we find on the Hero Xtreme 250R and the Hero Karizma XMR 210. The tank extensions have also undergone a transition to a sharper profile, while the side panels have also been redesigned with more cuts and creases. Lastly, the new graphic design complements the badge name “Glamour X” and gives a subtle yet aggressive appeal. Hero MotoCorp is offering the Glamour X 125 in five shades – Matt Magnetic Silver, Candy Blazing Red, Metallic Nexus Blue, Black Teal Blue, and Black Pearl Red.
The Hero Glamour X 125 continues to be built around the same frame as the existing Glamour 125 range. So, the hardware components have remained the same, which include telescopic fork upfront and dual-shock absorber for the rear. Braking duties are carried out by a disc brake at the front, and drum brake at the rear – just like the Glamour 125 Xtec.
The new Hero Glamour X 125 shares the 124.7 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing the same 11.4 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox, so performance-wise, there are no changes.
Bookings for both bikes will start tomorrow, while deliveries will start in a phased manner, starting with a select few cities. Despite the premium positioning of the Hero Glamour X 125, it comes across as quite the value for money proposition, especially when you compare it against the likes of the newly launched Honda CB Hornet 125 and its own stablemate, the Hero Xtreme 125R. Is the new Hero Glamour X 125 then actually better than the two? Stay tuned to this space for our review next, as we are riding the bike soon.
