With this new addition, Hero MotoCorp is now on sale in 52 countries
Hero MotoCorp expanded its international footprint by entering the French market. This announcement comes soon after it commencing operations in Italy, Spain and the UK. The largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country has joined hands with GD France, who will handle distribution in France. The company commenced its French juggernaut with the launch of the Hero Hunk 440 (Mavrick 440 in the Indian market).
Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Sanjay Bhan, Executive Vice President, Hero MotoCorp, said, "Building on our presence in Italy, Spain, and the UK, Hero MotoCorp’s entry into the France market marks another milestone in our journey of global expansion. Our partnership with GD France, further strengthens our European footprint. The launch of the Hunk 440 reflects our deep understanding of French riders and their expectations for reliability, superior-quality and performance-driven machines. The new Hunk 440 not only delivers on these expectations but also offers an ownership experience that is both accessible and aspirational. This unique combination of superior engineering, refined design and long-lasting performance is set to disrupt the current segment and offers the first-time owners as well as seasoned enthusiasts alike the opportunity to begin their motorcycling journey with a true sense of limitless freedom.”
Hero and GD France have set up a dealership network of 30 sales and service outlets across the country and it plans to expand this to 50+ dealers in 2026. The Hero Hunk 440 is basically the updated Mavrick 440 which is yet to go on sale in the Indian market. Hero had updated its most powerful motorcycle as it had failed to find any takers in the Indian market as a lot of people felt the bike was a bit too small in size. To fix these issues, Hero has updated the Mavrick 440 with USD fork to add more bulk and the new bike is expected to go on sale by late 2025 or early 2026.
