Indian manufacturer expands European presence as part of broader continental strategy.
Hero MotoCorp has officially entered the Italian market with three Euro 5+ compliant bikes, marking a significant step in its European expansion. The world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer will operate through distributor Pelpi International, which manages over 160 dealers across Italy.
Hero will initially operate through 36 dealerships in Italy, expanding to 54 locations in the coming months. The company is offering a five-year warranty package—three years standard plus two years as a launch offer—to establish trust with Italian customers.
The Hero Hunk 440 is basically the re-badged Mavrick 440, which was discontinued in India earlier this year. It features the same 440 cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine now compliant with Euro5+ emission norms. This powerhouse produces 27 bhp and 36 Nm. Built around high-tensile steel trellis frame, suspended by KYB USD fork and dual-shock absorbers.

The adventure-focused XPulse 200 4V uses a four-valve engine delivering 18.9 bhp and 17.35 Nm. It offers three ABS modes (Road, Off-road, Rally), long-travel suspension, LED projector headlamps, and Bluetooth navigation.

The Pro variant provides enhanced specifications whilst maintaining the same engine and core features as the standard model.

Italy represents Hero's 49th global market and forms part of a wider European push. The company has also began operations in the UK, Germany, France, and Spain from September onwards. Hero will also launch its all-electric Vida sub-brand in these markets, likely led by the Vida Z that debuted at EICMA 2024, followed by premium internal combustion models including the Xtreme 250R, Karizma XMR 250, and XPulse 421.
The expansion builds on strong international performance, with Hero's overseas business growing 43% in FY25. Exports currently account for 5.7% of the company's ₹40,756 crore revenue from FY24, with established operations across 48 countries in South Asia and Latin America.
