CEO Niranjan Gupta announces Hero’s third international facility to be in Brazil as a part of its expansion in Latin America.

Hero MotoCorp reported a positive end to the fiscal year with an 18.6 percent profit increase in Q4 FY2024. This uptick reflects a recovering two-wheeler market in India. Highlighting the company's growth strategy, CEO Niranjan Gupta announced plans to establish a new two-wheeler manufacturing facility in Brazil.

This marks a significant step for Hero MotoCorp's global expansion, establishing its third international facility after ventures in Colombia and Bangladesh. The Brazilian plant will cater to the Latin American market, a region Hero has identified as a key growth area. While initial plans for a facility emerged in 2014, they were delayed due to the Brazilian government's focus on flex-fuel technology. The new facility will address this by manufacturing two-wheelers compatible with E27, a common local fuel blend. However timeline for the new Hero Brazil manufacturing plant still remains unclear as it hasn’t been announced officially. Acko Drive got in touch with Hero MotoCorp for timeline details and official quotes, but the company refused to make any comment.

Hero plans to launch the Xoom 125R and Xoom 160 in the near future in India. Additionally, Gupta confirmed the introduction of new mid- and entry-level electric scooters under the Vida brand. While specifics on future launches remain undisclosed, we expect major reveals during the festive season. Hero's domestic sales have been driven by the continued success of its 125cc+ segment motorcycles.

The past fiscal year saw a strategic expansion of its product portfolio, including premium offerings like the Xoom 110, Xtreme series, Karizma XMR, and the recently launched Mavrick 440. The company also partnered with Harley-Davidson to launch the most affordable Harley bike in India, the X440, which is manufactured by Hero.
