Bookings for this limited edition variant of the XPulse are set to begin from December 18
Getting ready for the annual gruelling Dakar rally, Hero has unveiled a unique limited edition variant of its popular adventure motorcycle, called the XPulse 200 4V Dakar Edition. Prices for the bike have not yet been announced. However, bookings will commence from December 18 onwards. It is based on the XPulse 200 4V Pro, which currently retails at ₹1,64,500 (ex-showroom India). Hence, expect this version to cost around ₹3000-₹4000 more.
Not much seems to have changed from the XPulse 200 4V Pro to the Dakar Edition. In fact, the only change to note on this trim is the graphics of the adventure bike. There is a special ‘Dakar livery’ with a fair few Dakar logos sprawled across the bike. There are also compass coordinates on the tank that could link you to possibly a location in Saudi Arabia, the land where the Dakar rally takes place.
The bike is also rolling on knobby rubber, which was an optional fitment on the Pro variant. The spoke wheels aren’t of the tubeless variety, though. However, considering it is meant to be an affordable and accessible adventure motorcycle, it shouldn’t bother buyers much.
Besides the above changes, we can’t spot any more changes. It is still running the same 199 cc single-cylinder air-/oil-cooled engine that makes an honest 18.9 bhp and 17.35 Nm. The adjustable suspension units have a lot of travel, which raises the seat height to 891 mm (from 825 mm) and the ground clearance to 270 mm (220 mm). Handlebar risers complete the Pro package.
This could be a final version of the XPulse 200 4V, mainly to get rid of the remaining inventory before Hero unleashes the larger XPulse 210 early next year. And then the XPulse 421 is as it is likely to make a splash come mid-2025. Hence, Dakar 2025 success for Hero MotoSports might also result in special versions of these upcoming adventure bikes in the future.
