The latest spy shot confirms that Hero MotoCorp's bigger XPulse development is back on track.
It’s no secret that Hero MotoCorp is working on a bigger XPulse and the bike has been under development for quite some time now. Its subsequent test mule has now surfaced again, and it was spotted albeit with a bunch of changes. This further gives a strong indication that Hero MotoCorp is actively working on the bike, and contrary to earlier speculations, a launch is on the cards and that might happen soon.
Contrary to previous spy shots, the latest visuals give us a glimpse into the kind of accessories the bike will come equipped with. For starters, a pair of hard-side panniers, along with a tall windscreen, and knuckle guards were some of the equipment that stood out.
While the bike is still some time away from being production-ready, the latest spy shot further shows us a body design that is reminiscent of the current-gen Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Especially, with that bulky fuel tank design, and while the tail section ain’t as sleek as is with the RE ADV, the minimalistic front section with the round headlamp and raised beak design, gives the vibe of the Himalayan 450 vividly.
Interestingly, the bigger Hero XPulse is seen here equipped with telescopic fork and a monoshock setup. The typical 21-/17-inch spoke wheel setup was equipped with disc brake units, which further suggests that bigger XPulse might come with the option of switchable dual-channel ABS. However, it remains to be seen the kind of frame Hero MotoCorp adopts for the upcoming XPulse, as from the image above, we can say the engine is being used as a stress member with the current setup.
This has been one of the most discussed aspects of the upcoming XPulse model. Earlier, there was a lot of buzz that Hero MotoCorp is working on a new air-cooled, 400 cc, single-cylinder engine exclusively for XPulse. However, the brand hit a roadblock with this engine, for its performance was just not on par, with expectations. This also fueled the thought that the bigger XPulse might be called the ‘XPulse 400’.
However, these discussions occurred before the Harley-Davidson X440 was launched. The latter debuted a brand new 440 cc, air-oil cooled, single-cylinder mill. Its 27 bhp/ 38 Nm state of tune complimented the roadster’s touring capability more than just adequately, and its smooth power delivery has been upheld by us a lot.
Hero MotoCorp is yet to officially communicate any details with regards to the bike’s launch. However, the latest spy shot makes us hopeful and glad that the Indian manufacturer didn’t entirely scrap the idea and development of the same is still underway. So we can expect the big XPulse to launch most probably by mid-2025, after a showcase at the EICMA 2025.
