Buyers can choose from three colour options that are specific to this variant (L-R): Black Matshdow Grey, Black Pearl Red, and Black Leaf Green.
Hero MotoCorp has announced a new option for anyone looking to buy its sporty Xtreme 125R commuter bike, with a fresh look and improved features, but a higher price. The new Hero Xtreme 125R Dual-Channel ABS is now the top-end variant of this model, and is officially priced at ₹1.04 lakhs in India (ex-showroom, Delhi).
While its engine and performance specifications are largely unchanged, the main new feature is dual disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, which the company says is a segment-first. Buyers will also get ride-by-wire throttle, cruise control, and three ride modes (Power, Road, and Eco). There’s a colour LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity
Buyers can also choose from three colour options that are specific to this variant: Black Pearl Red, Black Matshdow Grey, and Black Leaf Green. There are also new striped body graphics. This appears to be the same as the design shown off at a dealers’ event in October, but it’s unclear if other variants will be updated with the same new look.
This new variant uses the same 124.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as its more affordable siblings. It produces 11.4bhp and 10.5Nm of torque, and is matched with a five-speed gearbox.
The Government of India recently made ABS mandatory for all bikes and scooters across categories starting on January 1, 2026.
The Hero Xtreme 125R was originally launched in January last year, starting at ₹95,000. Post GST price cuts, the lineup now begins at ₹89,000 for the non-ABS base variant. The previous top-end option with ABS costs ₹92,500, and a new single-seat variant was introduced quietly in August this year at the same price.
This bike won Commuter Motorcycle Of The Year at the 2025 Acko Drive Awards.
It’s a key part of the company’s premiumisation strategy, pushing beyond the 100cc segment. It takes on rivals such as the TVS Raider 125, Honda CB 125 Hornet, and Bajaj Pulsar N125.
