Honda took 16 years to sell the first 20 lakh Activas in the state, and the next 20 lakh Activas were sold in just 8 years.
Honda has added another feather to its cap, selling 40 lakh Activas in Gujarat. This includes the 110 cc and 125 cc Activas, and the brand managed to achieve this within 24 years of commencing operations in the state. The first 20 lakh Honda Activas were sold in 16 years, while the second lot of 20 lakh Activas took Honda just 8 years to sell in the state. This speaks volumes of the popularity that the Activa enjoys among the masses despite the constant influx of new and better scooters from TVS, Suzuki and Hero.
This is not the first time that the Activa has broken records, though. Last year saw Honda breach the 10 million sales milestone in South India, which included Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, and the Andaman & Nicobar islands. It took Honda 7 years to breach this milestone after it reached the 5 million sales milestone in the states above.
The constant popularity that the Activa enjoys in the country entirely boils down to its reliability factor. While Honda has not changed either the Activa 110 or the Activa 125 much over the years, periodic updates in the form of new colour options and the addition of new features have helped these scooters to stay relevant in the ever-evolving scooter landscape in the country.

The last Activa to be updated was the Honda Activa 125 for 2025, which saw the scooter gain a slightly different style. Additionally, the top-spec H-Smart trim has also featured a new 4.3-inch TFT display that is compatible with Honda’s RoadSync app and, therefore for the first time, supports call/SMS alert, turn-by-turn navigation and music controls. Even the 125 cc engine has been revised to the latest OBD-2B emission norms, due to which power and torque have increased slightly to 8.31 bhp and 10.5 Nm. Due to all these updates, the Activa 125 has also become dearer by ₹7,000 from before, whereas the DLX variant costs ₹94,422, and the H-Smart is priced at ₹97,146 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Honda Activa 110 is yet to be updated for 2025 to the latest OBD-2B emission norms. We expect that to happen soon. At the moment, Honda will focus all its energy on making the Activa e: and the QC1 a resounding success in the country. Honda has taken the conservative route by selling its debut electric scooters in a select few cities. The brand will also work on strengthening the charging infrastructures in these places. Bookings have already commenced for both, and to find out how the new Activa e: will be, check out our first look review video below:
