Nakajima will replace Takuya Tsumura who held this position since 2022.
Honda Cars India has announced that Takashi Nakajima will take over as its President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from April 1, 2025. Nakajima will replace Takuya Tsumura, who held this position for the past three years.
Nakajima joined Honda in 1994 and has held various positions in business planning, product planning, marketing, and sales promotion in markets like Japan, China, Spain, Czech Republic and Russia. He held the position of President of Honda Motor Russia since 2021 and also looked after product planning, marketing and corporate communications for Honda in Japan.
After his tenure in India finishes later this month, Tsumura will head back to Japan to Honda’s headquarters. Tsumura held a critical role in bringing the City hybrid, Elevate and Amaze. He also laid the foundation for bringing Honda’s first electric vehicle to India, which is expected to launch in the near future.
