Honda is managing to offer litre-class naked performance at middleweight naked pricing
A sub-₹13 lakh pricing for a litre-class naked? That too from Honda? You’ve got to be joking. But while it might seem like a dream, Honda has actually gone and launched its CB1000 Hornet SP in India at ₹12.36 lakh (ex-showroom Gurugram), making it more affordable than middleweight bikes like the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS and the Ducati Monster. Honda will only sell the bigger Hornet from its BigWing Topline dealerships, which are only to be found in cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru and Gurugram.
For 2025, the 1000 cc Hornet no longer arrives in the Neo Sports Cafe design language. Honda has tweaked the styling to make the bike look aggressively striking. The sharp LED face brings about this new attitude well with the overall feeling of the bike being one that is more imposing than the outgoing model.

In the powertrain department, though, the CB1000 Hornet SP might not be as delightful as its litre-class brethren. The 999 cc inline four mill pushes out 155 horses and 107 Nm, which, while not to be scoffed at, is quite a lot less than the likes of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS or the Ducati Streetfighter V4.
This being the SP version, the Hornet does get a few goodies as standard. For starters, the electronics suite has five riding modes (Sport, Standard, Rain, and two user-customisable), three-level traction control, and a quickshifter as standard. The suspension duties are taken care of by a Showa USD fork and Öhlins TTX36 monoshock, both of which have adjustability in the mix. Brembo monobloc calipers and Bridgestone Battlax tyres complete the package.

Considering its limited reach, Honda will be bringing only a limited few units of the bike to our shores. Hence, getting your hands on one might not be as easy as its rivals. But you will be able to save a lot more in the process without feeling shortchanged in the process.
