Honda CB1000 Hornet

The company will be replacing the affected component free of cost.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has issued a recall for the CB1000 Hornet SP. This recall isn’t specific to our market but part of the global recall initiated by Honda for units manufactured in 2025. According to the Japanese two-wheeler giant, the executive radiant heat from the exhaust heat could lead to the change pedal pivot loosening and there’s a possibility of it falling off while riding and thereby affecting the gear shift. The above could lead to difficulty in shifting or the gearbox itself to malfunction.

To address this issue, Honda will be replacing the above affected part at BigWing Topline dealerships across the country from January, 2026 onwards and has started informing affected customers. The company also added that the replacement will be done free of cost, irrespective of the warranty status of the vehicle. Apart from dealerships contacting the customers, the riders themselves can verify if their bike is affected or not by submitting their VIN number on the Honda India website.

The Honda CB1000 SP was launched in India earlier this year and retails for ₹13.29 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s sold only via the Honda BigWing Topline dealerships across the country and is more affordable than middleweight bikes like the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS and the Ducati Monster. Powering the motorcycle is a 999 cc inline-four motor delivering 155 bhp and 107 Nm.
