Honda CB500 Revealed in India Ahead of Launch

Honda India has unveiled the all-new CB500 in India, and at first glance, it looks like a larger version of the popular CB350. The new motorcycle follows a familiar retro roadster design language, but brings a bigger engine, slightly more premium hardware, and a distinct visual identity to the brand’s modern-classic lineup.

It gets a round LED headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a long single-piece seat, and a classic roadster silhouette. The motorcycle features an all-black fuel tank with retro yellow stripes, giving it a more distinctive and sporty appearance. The motorcycle also has brushed aluminium finish for the engine casing, which added a premium touch to the otherwise classic design. There’s also plenty of chrome used across the motorcycle, including the exhaust and other exterior elements.

Staying true to its retro appeal, the bike gets a minimalistic looking analogue speedo, along with a small digital inset to show information like a gear position indicator, odometer and trip meters. Along with this, the bike gets dual channel ABS and a switchable traction control system. 
The Honda CB500 will be available in three variants, with only the base variant getting alloy wheels. The upper two variants will feature spokes with tubeless tyres. 

Powering the new Honda CB500 is a 501 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces 28 bhp and 43 Nm. The bike features a conventional telescopic fork with fork gaiters, while the rear suspension setup consists of gas-charged twin shock absorbers. This setup stays true to the motorcycle’s classic roadster character. The bike gets tubeless cross-spoke wheels, which are expected to be a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear setup.

The bike could launch in India during the festive season and is expected to be retailed through Honda’s Big Wing dealerships.
