Making its comeback after a 2-year break, the new Honda CBR650R has launched with some significant upgrades.
Honda’s premium bike portfolio in India received its first entrant for 2025 with the new CBR650R. The fully-faired sport bike was discontinued in the country two years before. But now it has made a comeback in a much more modern avatar. Here’s what’s new and improved from before:
Starting with the styling of the bike. While not much has changed, yet there are a few subtle alterations. The fairing design now has more cuts and creases and the new twin LED headlight setup gives the bike a distinct aggressive and premium appeal. Lastly, the tail section has been chopped short and looks sleeker than before, which further amps up its sporty appeal.
Powering the Honda CBR650R is the same 649 cc, inline-4 engine as before. But unlike before, when Honda had tuned the engine to produce 87 bhp due to poor standards of Indian fuel, the brand has not made any changes to the mill now. It produces the same 93.87 bhp and 63 Nm, as seen on the Euro-spec bike.
The Honda CBR650R was earlier available with a telescopic fork. But for 2025, Honda has replaced that with Showa-sourced SFF BP USD fork. The monoshock setup has remained the same as before.
For 2025, the Honda CBR650R has gained a brand new 5-inch colour TFT display. It supports Bluetooth connectivity and can connect to your phone via the RoadSync app. So features like turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS, and notification alerts, will be available with the fully-faired sport bike.
All of these updates have pushed the asking price of the Honda CBR650R massively. The asking price is now set at ₹9.99 lakh which makes it ₹64,000 expensive than before. The 2025 Honda CBR650R will arrive in the country as a completely built unit (CBU), and bookings for the same have already commenced. So, deliveries should begin from February onwards.
