The CNG kit will be a dealer-level fitment and will come with a year/1 lakh km warranty.

Honda Cars India is now offering a CNG kit for its models, namely the Amaze, City (except City Hybrid) and Elevate. However, the kit is a dealer-level fitment and costs around ₹75,000 to ₹85,000, depending on the dealer and the model.

The CNG kit offered by Honda dealers is from the Lovato brand and the cars will get a one-year or 1 lakh km warranty from the dealerships. It comes with a 60-litre tank that will be installed in the trunk but it will also take up a lot of cargo space in the boot. Acko Drive has reached out to Honda Cars India regarding a statement on the CNG kit available on its model and this story will be updated once we receive a response.

Since this is a dealer-level accessory, it will give buyers the option to get a CNG kit on either manual or automatic transmission-equipped vehicles. Only Tata Motors offers automatic transmission-equipped CNG variants of the Tiago and Tigor. Apart from Tata Motors, Hyundai, Toyota and Maruti Suzuki also offer CNG variants of its models. Hyundai recently filed a trademark for its upcoming twin-cylinder technology which is likely to be called Hy-CNG Duo. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki has the most expansive CNG portfolio in India with as many as 12 models in its line-up.
