HMSI concluded FY2026 with total sales of 63,69,504 units, marking a 9% YoY growth. This included 57,49,275 domestic sales and 6,20,229 exports.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 10 million cumulative sales in the eastern region of the country. The achievement underscores the company’s steady expansion across key eastern states including West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand and the North-East.

Over the years, the East region has emerged as a crucial growth market for HMSI, driven by rising demand in both urban centres and semi-urban areas where two-wheelers remain essential for daily mobility. The milestone reflects not just volume growth, but also the brand’s deepening connection with a diverse customer base.

Key Markets Driving demand

States like West Bengal and Bihar have played a central role in pushing sales volumes, supported by strong demand in cities such as Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati. These regions continue to shape mobility trends, with buyers seeking practical and reliable transportation options. The growth trajectory also indicates a shift in consumer aspirations, with more first-time buyers entering the market alongside repeat customers upgrading within the brand.

Diverse Product Portfolio

HMSI’s diverse product lineup has been instrumental in achieving this milestone. Popular scooters such as the Activa and Dio have witnessed consistent demand, while motorcycles like the Shine 125 and SP125 have contributed significantly to overall volumes. Equally important is the company’s extensive sales and service network, which includes over 1,200 touchpoints across the region. This wide reach has enabled HMSI to maintain strong accessibility and deliver a seamless ownership experience, even in remote areas.

The company attributes its sustained growth to a combination of strong brand trust, reliable product quality and favourable resale value. These factors have helped HMSI establish itself as a preferred choice among both new and returning customers. The milestone, therefore, reflects more than just scale — it also highlights a long-term relationship with customers built on consistency and dependability.

Looking ahead, HMSI plans to further strengthen its presence in the East by expanding accessibility and enhancing customer experience. The company is also expected to leverage its growing portfolio, including its entry into the electric vehicle segment, to cater to evolving market needs.
