The Bayon will target those who need a four-metre plus SUV, but want something different and more affordable than the Creta.
The upcoming Hyundai Bayon SUV has begun arriving at dealership stockyards across India ahead of its official commercial launch scheduled for October 26, 2026. A new video shows customer display and demo units finished in a Fiery Red shade with a contrasting dark roof being offloaded at local showrooms. Bookings for the new crossover are currently open at authorised dealerships and on Hyundai's digital portal for a token amount of ₹11,000.
Positioned strategically between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai's product lineup, the Bayon is estimated to carry an ex-showroom price tag ranging from ₹9 lakh to ₹15 lakh. Upon launch, it will compete directly against rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Victoris and the Honda Elevate. Notably, Hyundai also plans to introduce the larger next-generation Creta in 2027, which is expected to measure around 4.45 metres in length.
The spied vehicle showcases an athletic crossover stance featuring an LED DRL bar extending across the bonnet lip, flanked by vertical LED lighting pods and lower-mounted primary headlight clusters housed in dark bumper enclosures. The side profile features a Fiery Red dual-tone finish with blacked-out pillars, black roof rails, pronounced wheel-arch cladding, and dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the Bayon gets connected LED tail-lamps, a blacked-out tailgate panel displaying prominent Bayon badging, a roof spoiler, and silver skid plates.
At launch, the SUV is only expected to come with a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 113 bhp and 144 Nm. It will be offered with both manual and CVT gearbox options.
