Hyundai Motor India has revealed new details about the upcoming Bayon compact SUV, ahead of its launch on October 26, 2026. The all-new Hyundai Bayon will be positioned between the Venue and Creta, and the automaker has revealed key details regarding the safety, powertrain, and colour options. Hyundai has confirmed the new Bayon will get 35 safety features as standard, along with Level 2 ADAS on the top trims. The 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine has been confirmed. Bookings for the Bayon are open for a token of ₹11,000, while deliveries will begin soon after the launch.
Powering the Hyundai Bayon will be the 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine tuned for 113 bhp and 143.8 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) automatic. Both will send power to the front wheels. This will be the sole engine available at the time of launch on the SUV.
The Bayon is underpinned by the Global K Enhanced Platform, which the company says has been engineered to meet the Indian five-star safety standards. The SUV uses hot-stamped components in its construction on the front apron, dashboard, rear floor, and side reinforcements. The hot-stamped rear-floor side members enhance rear-impact protection, while the dual-box construction, multiple load paths and ring-type structure help absorb and distribute impact energy, strengthen structural integrity and reduce the risk of cabin intrusion.

The Bayon uses multiple grade steels across its body structure. This includes 69 per cent Advanced Multi-Grade High-Strength Steel, integrating Hot Stamping (HS), Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS), Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and High Strength Steel (HSS) for higher structural rigidity.
In terms of safety, the Bayon will come with 80 advanced safety features with over 35 safety features as standard. The SUV will get Level 2 ADAS with 23 advanced driver assistance functions, 3 radars and 12 parking sensors; 360-degree view camera, blind-spot view monitor, hill-start assist control, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, and more.
