Hyundai has shared a couple of teasers for the upcoming electric version of the Creta. One of the teasers also confirm a few interesting details about the new Creta EV. Furthermore, Hyundai India has confirmed that the EV version of the Creta will be called the Creta Electric.
Through a darkened video teaser, Hyundai has confirmed that the Creta Electric will have its charging port mounted in the front, similar to the now-discontinued Kona Electric. Additionally, the Creta Electric will share most of its design with the standard Creta apart from a closed-off grille. The EV will get the same inverted L-shaped LED DRLs connected by a lightbar.
While the interior is yet to be teased or revealed, the Creta Electric will have the same interior as the standard Creta but with a few EV-specific changes. As per old spy shots, the Creta EV will get Hyundai’s new logo in Morse code as well as EV-specific graphics for the two 10.25-inch screens. Expect the accents inside to also be EV-specific to further differentiate it from the standard Creta.
The Creta Electric is expected to debut in the coming weeks, with a launch likely at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Once launched, the Creta EV will rival the likes of the Tata Curvv.ev, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser EV. The Creta EV is likely to get a 45 kWh battery with around 450 km of claimed range on a full charge.
