According to Hyundai, the top trims of the compact SUV made up 24 per cent of total Creta ICE sales and 71 per cent of Creta Electric sales in FY 2024-25.
Hyundai has announced that its flagship SUV, the Creta, was the best-selling model in the Indian automobile industry for March 2025, with 18,059 units sold—a 10.68 per cent increase from the 16,317 units recorded in February. However, January remained Creta’s best month, achieving sales of 18,522 units in this CY, while in February 2025, the compact SUV managed 16,317 units. In December 2024, Hyundai sold 12,608 units of the Creta. It's still early to assess the performance of other SUVs in the market, we will continue to monitor the trends closely.
Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and COO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “Charged with Hyundai Creta, the share of SUVs in HMIL’s total sales increased to 68.5 per cent in FY2024-25 as compared to 63.2% in the previous year. The launch of Creta Electric has further expanded the brand’s appeal, paving the way for a more sustainable future. We remain committed to delivering vehicles that delight and inspire our customers.”
Beyond its record-breaking sales in March, the Hyundai Creta reinforced its market leadership by securing the top position as India’s best-selling SUV for Q4 of FY 2024-25 (January–March), with a total of 52,898 units sold during the quarter. The model also concluded the fiscal year on a high note, ranking as the third highest-selling passenger vehicle in India for FY 2024-25, with a total of 1,94,871 units sold—marking 20 per cent year-on-year growth.
According to Hyundai, the top trims of the compact SUV accounted for 24 per cent of total Creta ICE sales and 71 per cent of Creta Electric sales in FY 2024-25. Additionally, variants equipped with a sunroof remained the top choice, making up 69 per cent of total sales, while models featuring connected technology contributed 38 per cent to overall Creta sales during the same period.
