Aims to take the lead in next-gen production methods that are quite different from the usual conveyor-belt approach.
Hyundai Motor Group has disclosed details of its inaugural smart urban mobility hub in Singapore, the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS). It is set to change the way cars are made and improve customer experience standards and will be inaugurated on November 21, 2023.

HMGICS brings together human and robotic processes, acting as a testing ground. It aims to take the lead in human-centric intelligent automotive manufacturing tech, using advanced, next-gen production methods that are quite different from the usual conveyor-belt approach. The goal is to reshape the customer experience and introduce innovative mobility solutions, making way for smarter urban living. As a catalyst for change, the centre aims to play a key role in shaping the future of mobility, contributing to a more sustainable and intelligent automotive landscape.

Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore (HMIGCS) adopts a customer-centred approach by tailoring products and services to individual needs and lifestyles. Utilising innovative methods like Pull Flexibility System (P-Flex) and Hyundai-Autonomous Logistic Operation (HALO), the centre aims to provide greater flexibility and automation, emphasising a commitment to personalised and responsive innovation.
The Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore (HMIGCS) takes a human-centric digital transformation, fostering a safe and friendly work environment. By integrating Ai, IoT, robotics, and advanced technologies, the hub creates a smart manufacturing platform. It emphasises worker health with H-Care policies and boosts efficiency through smart work management systems (S-Tutor).
HMIGCS) takes an open innovation approach by collaborating with various stakeholders, including Singapore government agencies, research institutes, and business partners. Together, they strive to enhance future mobility lifestyles in Singapore, embodying a commitment to shared growth and collaboration.
At HMIGCS, eco-friendly mobility and production are prioritised through clean, resource-circulating energy and improved battery performance via effective recycling. Operational efficiency is maximised by integrating cyber simulation data with real manufacturing processes, covering quality management, facility maintenance, and production operations. This data-governed approach extends to innovation, integrating Digital Twin and the Real Physical Factory through AI and Big Data for peak operational efficiency, envisioning a streamlined future for manufacturing processes.

Going beyond changing how things are made, HMGICS is playing an important role in shaping the plans for production, sustainability, and customer experience. These efforts also help strengthen Singapore's position in the changing world of future mobility. With a focus on sustainable and transformative solutions, HMGICS becomes part of Singapore's smart city setup, aligning with Hyundai Motor Group and Singapore's joint vision to create a better and more sustainable future for everyone.
The grand opening of HMGICS is scheduled for November 21, 2023, with public access opening shortly thereafter.
