iPhone SE 4 May Launch With In-House 5G Modem In Early 2025

Apple is set to change its affordable iPhone lineup with the upcoming iPhone SE 4, featuring the company's first in-house 5G modem, says a new report. This move marks Apple's growing independence from third-party chip manufacturers.

Investment firm Barclays' research note, authored by analyst Tom O'Malley and team, as quoted by MacRumors, reveals that Apple's custom-designed 5G modem will debut in the iPhone SE 4.

The chip has been identified as "Centauri," manufactured by semiconductor giant TSMC.

iPhone SE 4 Launch Timeline And Design Updates

The fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to hit stores by March 2025, maintaining Apple's traditional first-quarter release window for its SE series. Sources familiar with the supply chain indicate that camera component production is around the corner.

Design And Display Improvements

The new model is reported to share design elements with the base Apple iPhone 14, representing a significant upgrade from its predecessor. This design shift suggests a more modern aesthetic for Apple's entry-level iPhone offering.
