The new Sierra, carrying forward the name of Tata’s popular SUV from the 1990s, is set to be launched in India on November 25.
Tata Motors has announced that it will give each member of the winning ICC Women’s World Cup cricket team a brand new Tata Sierra, from the first lot that it will be manufacturing. The new Sierra, carrying forward the name of Tata’s popular SUV from the 1990s, is set to be launched in India on November 25.
In a press statement, Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd said “The Indian Women’s Cricket Team has made the entire nation proud with their extraordinary performance and remarkable win. Their journey stands as a true testament to determination and the power of belief, qualities that inspire every Indian. At Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, we are privileged to present these legends with another legend, the Tata Sierra.”
The new Sierra, which has been fully unveiled after being exhibited at the 2025 Auto Expo, will be available in ICE and electric versions. It has been designed with a boxy stance and modern lines, LED light bars across the front and back, flush door handles, a panoramic glass roof, six airbags, a Harman sound system, ambient interior lighting, and a three-screen setup on at least the premium variants.
Tata Motors had also capitalised on a viral moment in women’s cricket when, in March 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore player Ellyse Perry smashed the window of a Tata Punch.ev on display just beyond the boundary of the stadium with a powerful six. The company gifted her the broken window, framed as a memento, and launched its #PerryPowerfulPunch campaign.
