The Ford Capri is built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform.
The legendary Ford Capri makes a grand return, now reengineered as an all-electric sports coupe. The original Ford Capri, a cult favourite, now evolves into an electric vehicle with a range exceeding 620 km on a single charge, thanks to Volkswagen’s MEB platform. The new Ford Capri retains its rebellious spirit, offering vibrant colour choices like Vivid Yellow, while introducing a comprehensive equipment list. The Capri moniker returns 38 years after the Capri ICE was taken off the market.
The exterior of the Ford Capri pays homage to its predecessor with signature elements like four headlamps, now upgraded to Dynamic Matrix LED technology and a coast-to-coast grille. The coupe’s swooping roofline and four-piece taillamps blend into a sculpted rear, and ride on machined metal alloy wheels available in 19-, 20-, and 21-inch designs.
Inside, the Ford Capri boasts a digital and minimalist aesthetic. The wrap-around cockpit integrates the instrument panel and doors while high-quality materials, ambient lighting with 10 colour options, and a 10-speaker B&O sound system enhance the driving experience. The comfort features include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control.
The Ford Capri is equipped with a 17-litre MegaConsole that can store a 15-inch laptop and a My Private Locker for secure personal storage. The luggage space is substantial, offering up to 572-litre in a five-seat configuration. The 14.6-inch SYNC Move touchscreen supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The safety and ADAS on the Ford Capri are robust, featuring 12 ultrasonic sensors, five cameras, and three radars for 360-degree monitoring. Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Assisted Lane Change, and other advanced features. The parking aids include front and rear sensors, Reverse Brake Assist, a rear-view camera, and Active Park Assist.
The Ford Capri delivers up to 335 bhp from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, achieving 0-100 kmph in 5.3 seconds. Fast charging capabilities allow for a 10-80 per cent charge in approximately 26 minutes using a 185 kW DC charger.
