Inteva currently employs 320 professionals, including more than 180 engineers at its Bengaluru-based technical centre. The new plant announcement comes a year after a ₹30 crore capacity expansion in its first plant.
Inteva Products, a $2.8 billion Tier 1 supplier, has announced expansion of its India operations with the establishment of a second manufacturing facility in Pune. This new plant will serve as a manufacturing base for its new range of products for the evolving Indian mobility landscape.
Building on over 17 years of operations in the country, Inteva’s second Pune plant represents a significant investment in India’s industrial future. With an outlay of ₹50 crore, the new facility will enhance manufacturing capacity, support local supply chains, and generate over 400 new jobs. This investment by Inteva comes roughly a year after an approximately ₹30 crore investment to expand manufacturing capacity in its Pune plant. The company’s existing Pune plant and Bengaluru technical centre already serve as key pillars of its global network.
Gerard Roose, President and CEO of Inteva Products, highlighted that the expansion reflects the company’s confidence in India’s growth potential and its commitment to advancing innovative and sustainable mobility. Sanjay Kataria, Vice President and Managing Director for India and Rest of Asia, added that the move aligns with the government’s Make in India initiative and will foster deeper collaboration with domestic and international OEMs.
As part of this expansion, Inteva announced a new portfolio of advanced products designed for Indian automakers. These include frameless window regulators, power folding and glass actuators, the SLIM (Small Light Inteva Motor) system for window regulators, as well as E-Latch, frunk latch, and power tailgate systems. These next-generation solutions focus on improving safety, reducing weight, and supporting vehicle electrification, enabling India’s transition towards future-ready mobility. A major OEM order is learnt to have also fueled the new capacity addition.
Inteva continues to strengthen its sustainability efforts, with its Pune plant now powered by a 335-kW solar energy installation comprising over 1,000 panels. The company is also investing in material circularity and renewable resource initiatives to lower its carbon footprint. Meanwhile, its Bengaluru technical centre—home to over 320 professionals, including more than 180 engineers—remains a global hub for product design, validation, and business support.
