iPhone 15 launch tomorrow: Everything to expect from Apple event

Apple is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events of the year tomorrow, September 12. At its ‘Wonderlust’ event, it is expected to unveil a slate of new products, including the iPhone 15 series, Apple Watch Series 9, and 4th generation AirPods. Here’s everything you can expect from the Apple Event tomorrow.

iPhone 15 Series

The star of the show will be the unveiling of the iPhone 15 series. The iPhone 15 lineup is expected to feature significant improvements in performance, camera technology, and design departments. Some of the key anticipated features include:

• USB-C Transition: The most significant change coming to the iPhone lineup this year is the transition towards USB-C, in accordance with the EU regulation.

• Camera Upgrades: The base iPhone 15 models are expected to get a higher 48MP sensor, likely the same as the iPhone 14 Pro. With enhanced low-light capabilities, improved image stabilization, and a new telephoto sensor for Pro models.

• A17 Bionic Chip: The iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to come equipped with the A17 Bionic chip made on 3nm architecture, delivering faster processing speeds over the A16 chip that will grace the standard models.

• Design: While the design is expected to be largely similar to last year’s iPhone, the Pro models are rumoured to get a Titanium chassis.

iPhone 15 series India Launch

Apple has a significant presence in India but historically has launched its new products in India a few weeks after the global launch. This year, that gap is expected to be even narrower following reports of Apple starting the production of iPhone 15 in India as early as August.

Apple Watch Series 9

Alongside the iPhone 15 series, Apple is expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 9. While details are scarce, the Apple Watch is expected to get enhanced health and fitness features, improved battery life, and possibly new design elements. In addition, a new and improved S9 chip will power the upcoming Series 9.

4th Generation AirPods with USB Type-C

Apple is also expected to launch the 4th generation AirPods with a USB Type-C port tomorrow. This marks a departure from the Lightning connector after regulations to standardize USB-C in regions like the EU.

The Apple Event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 PM IST on September 12.
