iQOO has also announced that the 12 series will be among the first to launch in India featuring the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
In a move poised to stir the smartphone market, Vivo's subsidiary iQOO is set to launch the iQOO 12 Pro BMW M Motorsport edition on November 7. This upcoming release is particularly noteworthy as it will be among the first smartphones globally to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. iQOO has also announced that the 12 series will be among the first to launch in India featuring the new Qualcomm processor. This comes as part of a sustained partnership between iQOO and BMW's Motorsport division, under which iQOO has been unveiling M Motorsport branded smartphones for the past several years.
The iQOO 12 Pro BMW M Motorsport edition has been showcased in an elegant white, adorned with subtle BMW M Motorsport branding. An inscription on the device suggests it boasts 100x zoom capabilities. The phone features a prominent camera island, accompanied by an LED flash situated vertically alongside it. Mirroring the OnePlus 12, it incorporates an OmniVision OV64B 64-megapixel sensor, capable of 3x periscope lens zooming that will likely support 100x digital zoom. The primary sensor is also an OmniVision model—Ov50H—complemented by a Samsung IsoCell JN1 with a 15mm ultra-wide lens.
The device is expected to sport a Samsung E7 AMOLED panel with 2K resolution, supporting up to 144 frames per second. As for the battery specifications, it will house a 4,880mAh battery with 120-watt fast charging. The more advanced 12 Pro model, on the other hand, is expected to include a slightly larger 4,980mAh battery, also with 120-watt fast charging and an additional 50-watt wireless charging feature.
Most of these details have been confirmed by Nipun Marya, the CEO of iQOO in India. Given the confirmed specifications and the upcoming launch date, all eyes are now on November 7, when this highly-anticipated smartphone is set to make its debut.
