iQOO has released its first iQOO TWS 1 earbuds that promise high-fidelity audio and long battery life.
iQOO, a Chinese smartphone maker, has released its first true wireless earbuds with a flourish. The new iQOO TWS 1 earbuds promise high-fidelity audio and long battery life. They were unveiled alongside iQOO’s latest smartphone, the 11S, at a virtual event on April 14th.
The iQOO TWS 1 earbuds boast several impressive specifications. They have 12.2mm ultra-wideband drivers that can reproduce frequencies between 5Hz to 40KHz, providing an expansive 3D soundstage. More notably, they support “lossless” audio, a high-resolution Bluetooth codec that preserves more details in audio files. The iQOO TWS 1 are the first true wireless earbuds to offer lossless audio, claims the company.
To complement their audio chops, the earbuds offer a generous 20 hours of playback with noise-cancellation activated and 42 hours without. They recharge via USB-C and support fast charging. Other features include dual-device connectivity, in-ear detection, and iQOO’s Jovi voice assistant app integration. At 4.98 grams, they are designed to be lightweight for extended use.
iQOO has priced the TWS 1 earbuds at 399 yuan or $63 in China, where they will launch on April 19th. At current exchange rates, that would amount to around Rs 4,750 in India. Global availability remains unclear but is unlikely in the Indian market where iQOO operates. At their Chinese price, the iQOO TWS 1 will compete with premium true wireless earbuds from mainstream brands like Apple and Samsung. iQOO is eager to show that it can keep up with sound and style. For now, audiophiles in China will be the judge of that.
