The Spaniard has signed a two-year deal with the Bologna-based race team, and has replaced Enea Bastianini.

Looks like the 2025 MotoGP season is going to witness some crazy battles that will be laced with ego rubs as well. In its bid to make the rider’s championship battle all the more scintillating, Francesco Bagnaia will be joined by 8-time world champion Marc Marquez on the same factory Desmosedici GP bike next year.

The official announcement from Lenovo Ducati comes shortly after Aprilia announced that current Prima Pramac star rider, Jorge Martin, will join the Noale-based factory racing team from next year onwards. The ‘Martinator’ was earlier rumoured to join the factory Ducati team, ever since it was confirmed that Enea Bastianini would join team KTM via its satellite Tech3 outfit.

Ducati noted in its press release that they were quite impressed with how Marquez adapted to the new Ducati Desmosedici GP bike after a long stint with Honda. The Spaniard already has three podium finishes to his credit in his debut season with the satellite Ducati bike. Sensing “his innate ambition” to grow continuously, Ducati has decided to go for Marquez for next year. “In the box, we will have two riders who together hold 11 World Titles, and being able to count on their experience and maturity will be invaluable for our growth as well,” concluded Luigi Dall'Igna, General Manager, Ducati Corse.
