Jaguar Land Rover is set to launch a new bespoke special edition for the Indian market, this time inspired by the Himalayas, following the strong reception of the Range Rover Ranthambore Edition. Martin Limpert, Global Managing Director at JLR, confirmed the development during a recent interaction with the media. “Our Ranthambore Edition was well received, and our customers want more India-based specials, so we are planning another, and this one is based on the Himalayas,” said Limpert.

While official design details of the Himalayan Edition are yet to be revealed, early expectations suggest a lighter exterior palette—possibly in shades of white—to reflect the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas. The interior is also likely to feature bespoke thematic trims, echoing the stylistic cues of the Ranthambore Edition, which paid homage to India’s national parks and wildlife.
The Ranthambore Edition, which served as a test case for localised exclusivity, featured a custom black exterior with Corinthian Bronze and Anthracite highlights, said to evoke the visual pattern of a tiger's stripes. The cabin showcased premium Caraway and Perlino semi-aniline leather with embroidery mimicking the tiger's spinal stripes. The 12 units of the Ranthambore Edition were sold out within a week of its launch.

Limpert emphasised the strategic value of such offerings: “Our customers are very appreciative of these editions, as they add to the exclusivity.”
Building on the positive market response, JLR plans to expand its bespoke services in India. Limpert pointed out that local manufacturing played a crucial role in the brand’s recent performance. In FY2025, JLR India recorded a 40 per cent year-on-year growth, delivering 6,183 units and claiming the third position in India’s premium car segment.

Notably, the local assembly of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport contributed significantly to this growth, with sales of these two models increasing by 2.5 times compared to the previous fiscal year.
