Future stops include Munich and Tokyo before it arrives in India for its public reveal.
The Jaguar Type 00 EV concept, first unveiled globally in December last year, is set to make its India debut on June 14 in Mumbai. The radical design study is currently on a world tour and has already been showcased in key international markets including Miami, Paris, and Monaco. Future stops include Munich and Tokyo before it arrives in India for its public reveal.
The Type 00 is not a preview of a single upcoming model, but rather a design manifesto for Jaguar’s next-generation all-electric lineup. Its controversial styling and futuristic aesthetics have drawn considerable attention worldwide. The concept signals a new chapter for Jaguar as the brand undergoes a comprehensive transformation toward electrification and premium positioning.

The name ‘Type 00’ is symbolic. The double zero represents both zero emissions and a metaphorical ‘zero point’ — a total reset in Jaguar’s brand direction as it moves away from its legacy of combustion-engine luxury vehicles to a portfolio centered around electric performance and sustainability.
While the Type 00 remains a concept, Jaguar is already developing the first production vehicle based on this new design philosophy. The company is testing camouflaged prototypes of a 4-door electric grand tourer (GT) in the UK, which will be the first model built on Jaguar’s all-new Electric Architecture, or JEA.

Initial observations from the prototypes reveal a sleek, coupe-like silhouette with an elongated bonnet, a rear-set cabin, and a low, sloping roofline that ends in a short, flat boot deck. A bold, upright nose and oversized wheels further suggest a focus on performance and road presence. The GT’s dimensions and proportions align with the marque’s ambition to offer a high-end, electric flagship that redefines its identity.
Jaguar has stated that the new electric GT will be capable of a targeted WLTP range of 770 km. Fast-charging capability is also a key feature, with the ability to recharge up to 321 km of range in just 15 minutes. These figures place the car firmly in the premium EV segment, rivaling offerings from established electric marques.
The production version of the GT is expected to be officially unveiled in late 2025, with sales beginning shortly thereafter in priority markets such as the UK and the US. India will be part of the second phase of the launch rollout, likely toward the end of 2026 or early 2027.
