Artists from India and Nepal along with more than 100 riders upon Jawa and Yezdi bikes at the festival
Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles hosted the 29th edition of the iRock Festival in South Mumbai. The festival, often referred to as the ‘Woodstock of India,’ took place from November 4 to 5, at Bayview Lawns, Princess Dock, Mazagaon, South Mumbai. This festival offered a perfect blend of music and motorcycling culture.
To support emerging artists, Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles sponsored a nationwide band hunt at the 'Jawa Yezdi New Sound Stage' during the festival. Established names in the Indian rock scene such as Parikrama, Agam, Bhayanak Maut, Swarathma, and others delivered thrilling performances at the festival. This is in line with the Jawa Yezdi Nomads' philosophy of 'discovery'
The festival stood out with performances from emerging artists spanning different genres and languages, including artists from India and Nepal. Furthermore, the festival explored the diverse sounds of Indian classical and folk music, combining instruments like the mridangam and flute with electric guitar solos and drumming.
There was an experience zone for the Jawa Yezdi Kommuniti, showcasing bikes such as the Jawa 42 Bobber Black Mirror, Jawa 42, Yezdi Roadster, and Yezdi Adventure. The brand's range of lifestyle accessories was also on display. There were about 100 riders who rode to the festivals from various cities, all on their Jawa and Yezdi bikes. Currently the Jawa lineup comprises Jawa, Jawa 42, Jawa 42 Bobber, and Jawa Perak, while the Yezdi lineup has Yezdi Roadster, Yezdi Scrambler, and Yezdi Adventure.
CEO of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, Ashish Singh Joshi, conveyed his thoughts on the brand's engagement, “Historically speaking, motorcycling and rock-n-roll are two sides of the same coin, and our partnership with Independence Rock aligns perfectly with our brand philosophy. Such cultural partnership stands as a testament to Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles' potential to explore boundaries and transcend the traditional motorcycle landscape.”
It's good to see brands engaging in bringing biking culture to the new generation. This allows their customers to experience the culture and be a part of keeping it alive. We look forward to more events like this and previous ones such as the Covelong Surf Festival, graffiti art campaigns, support for skateboarding, and the Ladakh International Musical Festival (LIMF).
