Jeep Updates Compass Range in India; Unveils Meridian Overland Edition

The new Jeep Compass range has been launched in India for a starting price of Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new Compass AT range starts at Rs 23.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new Compass 4x2 AT will be positioned below the 4x4 AT variant. Furthermore, the American automaker has also launched the Black Shark Edition of the Compass in India.

Gets a new red & black paint scheme for the exterior along with an all-black cabin with red highlights. The company claims that this variant of the Compass has been developed and launched exclusively for India.

The Compass 4x2 Diesel AT comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission and is powered by 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel motor which churns out 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque.

Jeep claims a fuel efficiency figure of 16.2 kmpl and a 0 to 100 kmph time of 9.8 seconds. Furthermore, the Compass range has also been updated in India with a redesigned front grille and a new design for the alloy wheels.

That’s not all though, Jeep India has also unveiled the Jeep Meridian Overland which gets a new grille with chrome surrounds, full body colour lowers and redesigned alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Overland edition of the Meridian gets suede finish on the seats, copper inserts in and around the dashboard. This special edition joins the Meridian Upland and Meridian X in the range.
