JSW MG will focus majorly on PHEVs and its first new model will be launched in the upcoming festive season.
JSW MG Motor India, the new joint venture between JSW Group and MG Motor India, has announced it will launch a new vehicle in India every 3-4 months. The first vehicle will be launched during the upcoming festive season.
Furthermore, JSW MG will focus majorly on plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV). Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director, JSW Group, said, “The PHEV technology is now a new trend in the world that people are adopting as an interim solution till the charging ecosystem gets fully developed in the country.”

Jindal added, “To take care of the range anxiety among consumers in India, we will be coming out with new PHEVs.” Jindal also mentioned that all these new vehicles coming to India will also be built at the brand’s plant in Halol, Gujarat and will then be exported to other markets as well. At the moment, MG only has one PHEV in its global lineup, the MG EHS. However, expect the JSW MG to develop new PHEV models for India.

India is now the third largest automotive market in the world, with nearly four million annual vehicle sales. Parth Jindal, Managing Director, JSW Steel, feels confident that India will witness 10 million annual sales by 2030. He added that along with an aim to, “We want to sell one million electric vehicles in India by 2030, in addition to the other products we will sell.”
