JSW Motors Appoints Rajan Sharma as Head of Strategy and Planning

JSW Motors has named Rajan Sharma as its Head of Strategy & Planning as the company bolsters its senior leadership team in preparation for establishing a new mobility-driven automotive venture in India. Sharma confirmed the appointment via LinkedIn, describing the rise of a significant new Indian automotive brand as a "rare moment for the industry."

"The emergence of a new large Indian automotive brand is a rare moment for the industry. Delighted to join JSW Motors as Head -- Strategy & Planning," he wrote, noting that India's automotive landscape is entering another defining phase as the sector shifts towards new energy vehicles and next-generation mobility ecosystems.

Before joining JSW Motors, Sharma spent two years at Tata Motors as Head of Sales Planning, a position he held from April 2024 to March 2026. Prior to that, he held several senior roles at MG Motor India, serving as Field Sales Head for South and West India as well as General Manager and Zonal Head for the South zone. Earlier in his career, he gained experience in sales and strategy at CarDekho Group, and also completed a stint at Hyundai Motor India.

In his LinkedIn post, Sharma noted that JSW Group's ambition to create a future-ready mobility ecosystem reflects broader goals around innovation, infrastructure, and nation-building.

JSW Group has been actively seeking opportunities across the automotive and new energy mobility sectors, with its first product expected to reach the market within this calendar year.
