Kawasaki has introduced a seven-year extended warranty programme for the KLX 230, priced at ₹2,499. The move follows the company's recent efforts to make the lightweight off-roader more accessible to Indian buyers.
The KLX 230 comes with a standard three-year warranty. Buyers who purchase the extended warranty will enjoy a total coverage period of 10 years. The extended warranty covers engine and gearbox components, offering long-term peace of mind for owners.
Kawasaki has been working to improve the KLX 230's value proposition in India. The company reduced the bike's price by ₹1.30 lakh in August after shifting production to India. Following the recent GST reduction, the KLX 230 now costs ₹1.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
The KLX 230 is aimed at riders wanting to explore off-road riding without needing a bike for extensive daily use. Weighing just 139kg, it's light and manageable for beginners. Power comes from a 233cc air-cooled engine with strong low-end torque.
Off-road capability comes courtesy of long-travel suspension, 21-18-inch spoke wheels, and a generous 255 mm ground clearance. Whilst it can handle commuting duties, the small fuel tank and narrow seat can be limiting factors for longer rides.
