Inspired by championship-winning Ninja ZXR-7
Kawasaki has revealed a special edition of the Ninja ZX-4RR, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ninja brand. The bike's design reminds us of the Ninja ZXR-7, from the 1990s. This version is slated for international markets though and won't come to India.
For those who do not have an idea about the ZX-4RR, it is a bike with a relatively smaller displacement of 399 cc but is a 4-cylinder engine. These allow it to be a very high revving motor that can sustain revs up to 14,000 rpm. This churns out 76 bhp at 14000 rpm and 37 Nm of peak torque at 12,000 rpm. All this power is put down using a 6-speed gearbox which has a slipper clutch and quick shifter.
There are different riding modes like Sports, Road, Rain, and Rider, as well as two power modes, low and high. The bike also comes with a traction control system that has three levels, along with dual-channel ABS for safety. Additionally, Kawasaki has added a 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display on the bike, and it can connect to your phone via Bluetooth.
The special edition Ninja ZX-4RR looks different from the regular one but works the same way underneath. It's got eye-catching colours like green, white, and blue, and the wheels are green. You'll also notice a big "Kawasaki" lettering on the front, and it displays a "40th-anniversary" sticker on the fuel tank. However, the main body of the bike, the part that covers the engine, looks just like the outgoing version.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is probably not going to be available in India, in this special edition avatar. But the regular Ninja ZX-4R is sold in India, although it's quite expensive at a price of ₹8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
