Kawasaki's 2026 KLE500 adventure bike features a 451cc twin-cylinder engine, 21-inch front wheel, advanced suspension, and SE variant extras. Rally-inspired for mixed terrains; India launch in 2026.
Kawasaki has officially revealed the 2026 KLE500, a rally-inspired middleweight adventure motorcycle that revives the iconic KLE lineage with modern dual-purpose prowess.
Aimed at bridging the gap in Kawasaki's global lineup after years without a 21-inch front-wheel model, the KLE500 blends rugged off-road capability with everyday usability, set for an India launch next year.
The KLE500's design draws from rally heritage, featuring a robust steel trellis frame for enhanced rigidity and longevity. It sports a 21-inch front wheel shod with dual-purpose tyres, ideal for tackling mixed terrains, while the rear pairs with a 17-inch wheel for highway stability.
Suspension duties fall to adjustable Kayaba long-travel forks upfront and a rear monoshock linked via Kawasaki's UNI Trak system, ensuring compliant handling over bumps and confident cornering on tarmac.
Powering the adventure is a freshly tuned 451cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 180-degree crankshaft, borrowed from the Z500 and Ninja 500 siblings. This unit churns out 45 bhp at 9,000rpm and 42.6 Nm at 6,000rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
The engine's linear delivery and compact footprint make it versatile for touring or commuting, with fuel efficiency optimised for long hauls.
The standard KLE500 comes loaded with essentials like a 5-inch TFT display, switchable ABS, traction control, and multiple ride modes (Sport, Road, Rain, plus an Off-Road mode that disables rear ABS).
The premium SE variant ups the ante with a connected TFT screen for smartphone integration, a taller windscreen, beefier handguards, a robust engine skid plate, and LED turn signals. Kawasaki's Ergo-FIT system offers four seat height options (from 815mm to 845mm) to suit diverse riders.
While global pricing remains under wraps, the KLE500 will be positioned as an accessible adventure option. Deliveries kick off in Europe and select markets by mid-2026, with India following suit soon after.
