Kawasaki Unveils ZX-6R At India Bike Week 2023

Kawasaki has unveiled the ZX06R at India Bike Week 2023. The 2024 ZX-6R undergoes significant updates with a sharper face, redesigned LED headlights, and a new Kawasaki TFT dash featuring Bluetooth connectivity. Despite meeting Euro-5 emissions norms, there's a modest impact on weight (198 kg with a full 17-litre fuel tank), resulting in a 2 kg increase, along with a slight reduction of 2 bhp and 1.8 Nm.

The ZX-6R is propelled by a familiar liquid-cooled, 636 cc, inline-four engine, delivering 128 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 69 Nm at 10,800 rpm, with peak torque now occurring 200 rpm lower. Paired with a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox and a quickshifter.

The aluminium perimeter frame houses Showa USD fork and monoshock, fully adjustable, while braking involves Nissin monobloc callipers gripping twin 310 mm front petal discs and a single-pot calliper on a 220mm rear disc. Tyre sizes remain 120/70-ZR17 front and 180/55-ZR17 rear, now featuring Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 tyres instead of the earlier Bridgestone Battlax S22s.

The bike retains two power modes (Full and Low), a 3-level traction control system, and introduces four riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider). Kawasaki has incorporated various features such as traction control, and ABS. Additionally, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R will also get a TFT screen with connectivity to smartphones. The bike includes traction control, ride modes, ABS, and other safety features.

Prices have not been announced but we are expecting it to be around the ₹12 lakh mark.
