The new Jawa 350 brings both mechanical and underpinning changes along with revised aesthetics as well
2024 is off to a “Classic” start with the launch of the new Jawa 350. The motorcycle has undergone some thorough changes which have not just altered the performance but has also made it more ergonomically sound. Moreover, these key changes have also brought the Jawa roadster on par with its main rival, the Royal Enfield Classic 350. So, how has Jawa managed to achieve this?
Starting with this much-needed update, the new 2024 Jawa 350 is now powered by the 334cc, single-cylinder engine. This is the same mill that is also available with the Jawa 42 and Perak Bobbers, however in the Jawa 350, the engine produces 22.6 bhp at 7, 000 rpm and 28.1 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The previous Jawa with the 293cc engine used to produce 26.84 Nm and 26.5bhp.
Jawa claims that the new engine has a “meaty low-end and mid-range punch”, and most of the torque is produced lower in the rev range, thereby making it well-suited for city streets and for that occasional long-distance touring.
To accommodate this new engine, the Jawa 350 is built around a new double cradle frame chassis. This has enhanced the stature of the Jawa 350 with a longer wheelbase at 1449mm and a higher ground clearance of 178mm. The latter development will save the Jawa 350 from scrapping its belly, which was a recurrent issue with the previous model.
With wider rear tires, riders will now feel more confident around corners. It should encourage you to take those angles, that earlier would have been a hair-raising affair.
The Jawa 350 always had a classic touch, which didn’t sway away from the original design much. Making this appeal all the more regal and royal is the introduction of a new Mystique Orange shade with polished chrome and golden pinstripes. In addition to that, the Jawa 350 is also available with two more colour options - Black and Maroon.
The Jawa 350 also replaces the previous iteration. And with this new introduction, the Jawa line-up now includes four models, namely, Jawa 42, Jawa 350, Jawa 42 Bobber, and the Jawa Perak.
