With prices starting at ₹12.54 lakh (ex-showroom), Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) is slotted between HTE(O) and HTK variants.
Kia launched an upgraded version of the Carens last year with a new suffix named Clavis. More than just a facelift, the Carens Clavis offered more premium looks and functionality. The South Korean carmaker strengthened Carens Clavis (ICE) lineup with the introduction of a new HTE(EX) trim, aimed at offering enhanced comfort and convenience features.
Positioned above the existing HTE(O) variant, the HTE(EX) trim brings several premium features that improve everyday usability. These include fully automatic temperature control (FATC) for improved climate comfort, LED daytime running lamps and position lamps that enhance exterior styling and visibility, and LED cabin lamps that contribute to a more modern interior ambience. The inclusion of an auto up/down driver-side power window further adds to convenience and safety.

A key highlight of the HTE(EX) trim is the introduction of a sky light electric sunroof in the G1.5 petrol powertrain for the first time. This addition enhances cabin openness and elevates the overall in-car experience, addressing a feature that has increasingly become a priority for Indian buyers in the MPV and family vehicle segments.
Commenting on the launch, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Kia India, said “The introduction of the HTE (EX) trim for Carens Clavis (ICE) range is a direct outcome of listening closely to our customers and understanding what they value most. By incorporating comfort and convenience features that they have actively want, including the first-ever skylight sunroof in the G1.5 powertrain of Carens Clavis — and offering them across all powertrains, we are making our Carens Clavis lineup an even more compelling choice for families.”
The newly introduced HTE(EX) trim of Kia Carens Clavis is available exclusively in a 7-seater configuration. Prices start at ₹12.54 lakh (ex-showroom) for the G1.5 petrol variant, ₹13.41 lakh for the G1.5 turbo-petrol, and ₹14.52 lakh for the D1.5 diesel (all prices ex-showroom).

Speaking of powertrains, Kia offers three engine options with the Carens Clavis including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol mill, and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. The 1.5-litre NA petrol unit generates 113 bhp and 144 Nm whereas the turbocharged unit pumps out 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque. The oil burner, on the other hand, produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm.
