Kia India has launched the Carens Clavis in India at ₹11.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Carens Clavis is essentially a facelifted version of the Carens MPV, but positioned as a premium version, and both are being sold together. The Carens Clavis is available with eight trims – HTE, HTE (O), HTEK, HTK+, HTK+ (O), HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (6S). With all the powertrain and gearbox options combined, it comes with 24 variants. Kia is offering the Carens Clavis with three engines - a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. It also comes with a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission options. After a while, Kia is offering a manual transmission option with a turbo-petrol engine in any of its cars.

In terms of features, the Carens Clavis comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, connected car tech and more. Safety features on board include six airbags, ISOFIX, stability control, ABS with EBD, hill assist control and more than 20 features in its ADAS suite.

The Carens Clavis rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki XL6, Toyota Innova Crysta, Toyota Innova Hycross, Maruti Suzuki Invicto and BYD eMAX 7.
