Kia India has announced the launch of a new Digital Passport feature, which it says is intended to simplify vehicle ownership and make information about its lifecycle easier to access. The data-driven vehicle health report is a paid subscription and will cost ₹399 plus taxes for three months. This initiative comes shortly after the company announced that over 30 percent of Kia car owners in India have chosen to pay for a Kia Connect subscription after their free trial period ended.
The Digital Passport can be found within the Kia Connect app, and shows data related to car health and maintenance that is usually spread out across multiple sources and platforms, according to the company. This includes an overall health score, detailed service history, accident and repair records, driving insights, and warranty status.
Information is consolidated into a single report that is designed to give customers meaningful and actionable information about their connected car’s condition and history along with a simple overall vehicle health score. Driving behaviour insights are also surfaced, to help owners understand how they could improve efficiency and long-term vehicle health by altering their driving patterns.
The data shown in the Digital Passport is also claimed to be transparent, verified, and easy to understand. In addition to offering peace of mind for owners throughout their car’s lifecycle, this could also come into play when trying to evaluate its condition in order to sell it second-hand.
In a press statement, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Kia India, said "Digital Passport brings greater transparency and reliability to vehicle information, reinforcing customer confidence and trust. This initiative reflects our commitment to delivering technology-led solutions that simplify ownership and strengthen long-term relationships with our customers."
