Pre-bookings for the Kia Carnival commenced on September 16.
Kia India finally launched the new fourth-generation Carnival today, alongside its flagship all-electric EV9. Pre-bookings for the former had already commenced from September 16 onwards at ₹2 lakh, and consequently, the South Korean automaker has already registered bookings for 2796 units of the luxury MPV. Priced at ₹ 63.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Kia Carnival will be available with a single Limousine+ variant.
Given this generational update, the new Kia Carnival will debut with an extensive upgraded feature list. Starting with the new dual single-pane electric sunroof, the dashboard will now boast two 12.3-inch displays, one for the instrument panel and the other for the infotainment unit. The front row will get powered and ventilated seats, and the rear doors will also be powered. Along with that, a 360-degree surround camera with blind spot monitor, multi-zone climate control, level 2 ADAS, and a premium music system will also be available.
The new Kia Carnival's 2.2-litre diesel engine, which churns out 197 bhp and 440 Nm, powers it. Transmission duties are carried out by an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which again remains the same.
The new Kia Carnival has become more expensive by almost ₹30-₹25 lakh, with the outgoing model priced between ₹30-₹35 lakh (ex-showroom, India). While the price hike reflects the new features that Kia has introduced with the Carnival, the price makes the MPV look significantly more expensive than before.
