Kia India has received 20,000 bookings for the Clavis, and 1,000 orders for the Clavis EV.
Kia India has announced that the newly launched Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV have together garnered over 21,000 bookings in a span of four months. Of these, 20,000 units are for the ICE-powered Carens Clavis, while the electric version has received 1,000 bookings since its launch in July 2025.
This marks a strong continuation of the success story of the Kia Carens MPV, which has been a popular choice in the Indian market since its launch in 2022. The Carens has consistently been among Kia’s top-selling models, with sales crossing the 1.5 lakh milestone within two years. The introduction of the Clavis facelift, along with its all-electric derivative, is expected to further strengthen Kia’s foothold in the premium MPV and emerging electric MPV segments.
The Carens Clavis is essentially a refreshed version of the Carens MPV, but with a new name and design updates. It is priced between ₹11.50 lakh – ₹21.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and comes with three engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DCT.
The model packs premium features such as dual 12.3-inch displays, Bose 8-speaker audio, ambient lighting, integrated dashcam, a swappable screen for climate control and infotainment, one-touch tumble for the rear seat, and ‘boss mode’ seat adjustment. Safety is also a highlight with six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX anchors, and ADAS on offer.
The Carens Clavis EV, launched in July, is available with two battery packs – 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, delivering a claimed range of up to 490 km on a single charge. Priced between ₹17.99 lakh – ₹24.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Clavis EV aims to carve a niche in the electric MPV space, competing with the BYD eMAX 7, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Mahindra BE.06.
Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, "We are thrilled with the overwhelming response for our Carens Clavis and Clavis EV models. This strong demand is a testament to the trust customers place in Kia and reinforces our commitment to bringing innovation, safety, and comfort in our vehicles.”
The original Carens quickly became a volume driver for Kia, often contributing 25–30 per cent of Kia India’s monthly sales. With the facelifted Carens Clavis already notching up 20,000 bookings, it seems poised to continue this momentum. Meanwhile, the Clavis EV, despite its relatively modest start of 1,000 bookings, positions Kia as one of the few mainstream brands offering an electric MPV in India – a segment expected to grow significantly as families and fleet buyers look for spacious EVs.
Carens Clavis (ICE): Hyundai Alcazar, Toyota Innova Crysta, Toyota Innova Hycross, BYD eMAX 7
Carens Clavis EV: BYD eMAX 7, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE.06
With competitive pricing, feature-rich interiors, and both ICE and EV options, the Carens Clavis family is well-positioned to appeal to both traditional buyers and early EV adopters in India.
