The Seltos was Kia India's first car to be launched in 2019.
Kia Motor India has unveiled the Seltos facelift but has not revealed the price of the SUV yet. The company is all set to launch the SUV this month itself and we expect prices to begin from Rs. 11.5 lakh going all the way up to 20 lakh. The company, however, said that pre-bookings for the car will begin from July 14, 2023 and also announced a special K-Code for priority delivery.
It’s been 4 years since the company launched the Seltos in the country and during that time, it has already sold 5 lakh units of the SUV. The new Seltos, comes with more features than ever before and according to Kia there are 15 standard safety features on the car. In fact, a lot has been added to the features kitty, including ADAS technology. The Seltos facelift will feature ADAS Level 2 technology and that of course, will be available on the higher variants.
A total of 7 variants will be made available on the Seltos with 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine on offer.
Kia Seltos | 1.5-litre Smartstream MPi | 1.5-litre Smartstream T-Gdi | 1.5-litre CRDi |
Maximum Power | 114bhp@6300 rpm | 158 bhp@5500 rpm | 115 bhp@4000 rpm |
Peak Torque | 144 Nm@4500 rpm | 253 Nm@ 1500-3000 rpm | 250 Nm@ 1500 – 2750 rpm |
Transmission | 6MT/IVT | 6iMT/7DCT | 6 iMT/6AT |
Kia has been consciously moving towards iMT transmission and it shows as well in what is being offered in the New Seltos. The company is providing only the iMT with the turbocharged petrol and diesel powertrain.
The Seltos now gets two digital displays on the dashboard and both are 10.2-inch units. The instrument cluster and the infotainment system are both digital now, but the lower variants are likely to get a combination of digital and analogue, something that Kia India has not yet said anything about.
You also get other features like Heads Up Display, Ventilated Seats with 8-Way Power Driver’s Seat, Bose Premium Sound System with 8 Speakers, Smart Pure Air Purifier with Virus and Bacteria Protection and 360 Degree Camera with Blind View monitor in the cluster.
The Seltos now looks a bit grown up and the Star map LED DRLs give it a unique signature. Most of the changes though are made to the rear. You get connected tail lamps and a new bumper design. There are dual sports exhausts as well but those are only on the higher GT-Line and X-Line variants.
