The new Kia Syros EV claims a range of 526 km (ARAI) on a single charge, promising to be the best-in-segment against the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Kia India has pulled the wraps off the upcoming Syros EV, which will be the automaker’s most accessible electric offering in the market. The new Kia Syros EV is identical to its ICE-powered sibling, albeit with some EV-specific changes. The new electric subcompact SUV claims a range of 526 km (ARAI) on a single charge, promising to be the best-in-segment against the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO. Kia has opened pre-bookings for the Syros EV for a token of ₹25,000, which will be available on the brand’s website and at dealerships pan India.
The Kia Syros EV will be available with a 51.4 kWh battery pack on the Extended Range with a claimed range for 526 km (MIDC), while the standard version gets a 42 kWh battery with a range of 443 km (MIDC). Both packs get Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries and are liquid-cooled. Power comes from a single motor mounted at the front churning out 169 bhp. The SUV is capable of charging up to 100 kW and can charge from 10-80 per cent in just 39 minutes. The Syros EV will also feature a 10.8 kW onboard AC charging capacity.

The cabin gets a 30-inch triple-screen panoramic display comprising the digital cluster, climate control panel, and the infotainment system. The SUV will also have over-the-air (OTA) updates, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The Syros EV will come with Level 2 ADAS with 16 autonomous features and 25 safety features as standard. Kia says its K-Charge unifies over 20,300 points across 23 charge point operators under a single wallet on the MyKia app.

Commenting on the announcement, Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, said, “Our philosophy of 'Movement that Inspires' is about making future mobility meaningful, accessible and enriching for our customers. With the Syros EV, our second mass-market electric vehicle for India, we are democratizing advanced electric mobility — not only through cutting-edge technology, but by removing the anxieties that hold customers back. The Syros EV delivers a best-in-segment ARAI-certified range of 526 km — the first in its segment to cross the 500 km mark. Paired with a best-in-segment power output of 171 PS, it gives customers the confidence to go further without compromising on performance. Backed by a simplified and effortless ownership experience, including a Lifetime* Battery Warranty, Assured Buyback and BaaS, we are addressing what matters most to Indian families, bringing them a decisive step closer to going electric.”

Kia has also announced the new Syros EV will be available with a lifetime battery warranty and an assured buyback programme. Moreover, the small electric SUV will be available with battery-as-a-service (BaaS) financing, to make the ownership more accessible.
