The new Kinetic Watts and Volts electric scooter will compete against the likes of the Ather Rizta, Ola S1 range, and TVS iQube family electric scooters.
Kinetic Watts and Volts (a subsidiary of Kinetic Engineering) has launched its debut electric scooter, the Kinetic DX. The new electric scooter is the reincarnation of the hugely popular Kinetic Honda DX scooter, but in an EV avatar. It will be available in two trims – DX and DX+, wherein the former is priced at ₹1,11,499 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the latter with all the bells and whistles will set you back by ₹1,17,499 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for both trims have started today online and deliveries will commence in September 2025.
Kinetic has paid quite a bit of attention to ensure that the modern electric scooter pays proper tribute to the Kinetic Honda DX from the 90s. This conscious choice reflects not only in the design, but also in the colour options that Kinetic Watts and Volts are offering the electric scooter with, which are the same Red, Blue, White, Black, and Silver shades as before. Moreover, just like the OG Kinetic Honda, the new Kinetic DX electric scooter also comprises body panels that are made up of sheet metal.
The Kinetic DX electric scooter is powered by a 2.6 kWh battery and paired to a 4.8 kW electric motor. The overall setup is good for a claimed top speed of 90 kmph, while the claimed range is 116 km on a single charge. Additionally, Kinetic has a Cruise Lock feature that locks the speed of the electric scooter at 25-30 kmph, and that helps extrapolate a massive 150 km of range on a single charge.
Feature-wise, the Kinetic DX electric scooter gets one of the biggest instrument consoles with an 8.8-inch LCD on offer here. It supports all the modern smartphone connectivity features available these days, and more. Other highlights include the massive 37-litre boot space, which is among the largest in the segment. Along with that, you would also get reverse and hill-hold assist, plus music and navigation control, which will play out via onboard speakers. You also get a regenerative braking system here, which Kinetic is calling K-Coast.
The new electric scooter is available with several telekinetic features like real-time ride stats, vehicle data, geo-fencing, intruder alert, find My Kinetic, and much more. However, all of these features will be restricted to the top-spec Kinetic DX+ trim.
“The legendary Kinetic DX set so many firsts back in the ’90s, that it earned a permanent place in the hearts of millions. Reviving this icon was about more than just launching a scooter, it was about bringing back the reliability, innovation, and robustness that defined Kinetic for decades, giving it a future-ready soul,” concluded Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman, Kinetic India
