Kinetic Watts and Volts has commenced sales and service operations in Pune, Mumbai, Vadodara, Surat, Indore and Delhi NCR.

Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL) has announced a fresh ₹40 crore capital infusion from its promoter group, a move aimed at strengthening the company’s balance sheet and accelerating its expansion plans across electric mobility and automotive components.

The Pune-based firm said the investment was made through the conversion of warrants, subject to regulatory approvals. Following the transaction, promoter shareholding in the company has increased to 65 percent, up from 49 percent four years ago, signalling stronger promoter commitment to the company’s long-term strategy.

The funding comes as KEL deepens its involvement in emerging mobility technologies. The company has been expanding its capabilities in electric vehicle components, battery systems and precision engineering solutions, catering to both domestic and global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

According to Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of KEL, the capital will be used to support expansion across multiple business areas. These include the company’s growing auto component operations as well as the scaling up of its electric mobility initiatives.

“We will be using these funds for expansion of both projects as required and planned. This additional investment reflects the promoter group’s continued confidence in Kinetic Engineering and our long-term strategy. The automotive industry is undergoing a profound shift towards electric mobility, and we are building the capabilities needed to participate meaningfully in this transition,” said Firodia.

Part of the investment will also support the expansion of the recently launched electric scooter, the Kinetic DX. The model has been introduced by KEL’s subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts, in which the parent company holds an 80 percent stake.

The electric version of the Kinetic DX features several patented technologies, including Easy Charge, Easy Flip and Easy Key systems. It also comes with a metal body construction and a 37-litre under-seat storage capacity, which the company claims is among the largest in its category. The scooter is powered by a Range-X LFP battery, designed to offer improved longevity and safety compared with conventional NMC battery packs.

Currently, sales and service operations for the electric scooter have begun in cities such as Pune, Mumbai, Vadodara, Surat, Indore and the Delhi NCR region. The company plans to gradually expand distribution across the country and appoint more than 150 dealers this year.
